Algorand WTT

Move tokens between Algorand and other chains with the Wormhole Token Bridge (Wrapped Token Transfers). The site runs in your browser and has no backend or custody of its own. It simulates transactions before you sign them wherever the chain allows.

Bridge tokens to and from Algorand

Algorand WTT is an unofficial web app for the Wormhole Token Bridge on Algorand. Wormhole's documentation now calls the bridge Wrapped Token Transfers (WTT). The Portal website that used to support Algorand has been shut down, but the bridge contracts on Algorand and the other chains still work. This site lets you use them from your own wallets.

What you can do

  • From Algorand: send Wormhole-wrapped assets held on Algorand, such as WAVAX, WETH or SOL, back to their origin chain.
  • To Algorand: bridge tokens to Algorand from another chain, with the ASA opt-in when the recipient needs one.
  • Redeem: finish any transfer on its destination chain, found by source transaction, Wormholescan ID or signed VAA.
  • Activity: see the transfers of your wallets or any address, and continue any that were not redeemed.
  • Unwrap: turn wSOL, WETH, WAVAX, WBNB or WPOL back into the native coin.

How a transfer works

  1. You send the tokens to the bridge on the source chain. It locks them, or burns them if they are wrapped tokens.
  2. Wormhole's guardians sign a message describing the transfer, called a VAA. This usually takes a minute or two. From Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism and Base it takes about 20 minutes, until the transaction is final on Ethereum.
  3. You redeem the signed transfer on the destination chain, which releases or mints the tokens to the recipient. No relayer is involved, so you pay that chain's transaction fee yourself.

Nothing is lost if you stop between steps. A signed transfer stays redeemable, and the Activity and Redeem pages find it again later.

Supported chains and wallets

Algorand, Solana, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, Celo, Arbitrum, Optimism and Base. Algorand wallets connect through Pera, Defly or Lute. EVM and Solana wallets connect as browser extensions, or from a phone with WalletConnect.

Limits

  • From Algorand, only Wormhole-wrapped assets can be sent, and each goes back to its origin chain. Native Algorand assets such as ALGO or USDC cannot be sent out here.
  • A token can only be sent to Algorand if it already has a wrapped asset there.
  • Only plain token transfers are supported, not transfers that carry an extra payload for another app.

Safety

The site runs entirely in your browser and never holds your funds. Every transaction that spends from your accounts is signed by your own wallet, and the site simulates transactions before you sign them wherever the chain allows. Bridging cannot be undone, so send a small test amount first and check the destination address. Algorand WTT is not affiliated with or endorsed by Wormhole, Portal or the Wormhole Foundation.
